CLASSIC MINI

Mk1-Mk7. Several dozen various models. Most common were Austin & Morris, also Riley Elf and Wolseley Hornet. Built as affordable vehicles for the UK market.

GEN I

Coopers are naturally aspirated. Cooper S and JCW models are supercharged. These are the only supercharged models, all others are turbo charged.

R50 – Cooper

Hatchback base model: 2002-2006

R53 – Cooper S & JCW

Hatchback supercharged models: 2002-2006

R52 – Convertible

All models with Convertible top: 2004-2008

GEN II

Coopers are port injected models.
Cooper S and JCW’s are turbo charged with direct injection.
Engines were updated in 2011 for performance enhancements.

Cooper, Cooper S & JCW

Hatchback models with four seat, two doors. 2007-2013

R57 – Convertible

Cooper, Cooper S & JCW models with 4 seats and convertible tops. 2009-2015

R55 – Clubman

Cooper, Cooper S & JCW models. Larger model squared off backend with barndoors and an extra suicide door on passenger side. 2008-2015

R58 – Coupe

Cooper, Cooper S & JCW models. Two seat hardtop hatchback. Round roof design. 2011-2015

R59 – Roadster

Cooper, Cooper S & JCW models. Two seat convertible. Only model to have a trunk/boot lid. 2012-2015

R60 – Countryman

Cooper, Cooper S & JCW models. Large format, four door SUV style MINI. Squared headlights and high ride height. Family car MINI. 2010-2016

R61 – Paceman

Cooper, Cooper S & JCW models. Based off of the Countryman platform, this is a two door model with tapered backend. 2013-2016


GEN III

All third Generation MINI’s are turbo charged. Coopers have 1.5L 3 piston engines, Cooper S and JCW have 2.0L 4 piston engines.

F56

Cooper, Cooper S & JCW hatchback models with two doors, four seats. Slightly larger than previous hatchback but contains all modern features and technology. 2014-2024

F55

Cooper, Cooper S & JCW models with four doors, four seats and hatchback. Same as F56 but longer wheelbase due to extra doors. 2015-2024

F54 – Clubman

Cooper, Cooper S & JCW models. Replaced the R55 Clubman, but went to four doors and gained a wagon style profile. 2016-2024

F57 – Convertible

Cooper, Cooper S & JCW models with two doors and convertible top. 2017-2025

F60 – Countryman

Cooper, Cooper S & JCW models continue with updated version of R60 Countryman. 2017-2024

GEN IIII

Cooper name now only applies to hatchback and convertible models. C now refers to base models and S still applies to higher powered models.

F66

Cooper Base C, Cooper S and JCW. Hatchback models, two doors and four seats. 2025-now

F65 – Four Door Hatch

Base C, Cooper S and JCW models with four doors, hatchbacks, and four seats. 2025-now

F57 – Convertible

Base C, Cooper S and JCW models with convertible top. 2025-now

U25 – Countryman

Base, S & JCW models. Continuation of the Countryman line with updated styling and features. 2025-now

J05 – Aceman

EV replacing the Clubman. 2025-now

J01 – Hatch

EV Hatchback model. 2025-now
